Frequently Asked Questions: Onboarding & Qualification

Frequently asked questions about onboarding and qualification.

1. I have added my language pair(s) but there doesn’t seem to be a Qualification Task available.

Sometimes a language pair is set to “Qualification Task unavailable”.

This could mean that we either:

  1.  don’t have enough projects running for this language pair and therefore, have disabled the qualification process, OR
  2. too many translators have recently signed up for this language pair which made us pause the qualification process.

Once the qualification process starts up (again) the Qualification Task will become available to you, and you will be notified by email.

2. Why am I not receiving any jobs?

  • To be able to review your profile, we need you to enter all of your details and information to finish the qualification process.
  • Once your profile has been approved and your Qualification translation has been evaluated with good results, you will be able to start translating!

Please check if you have entered the following details in your account:

  • Resume/CV information, LinkedIn and/or Proz url, language pairs, experience fields (for translations)
  • Have you already finished a qualification task for your language pair(s)? Please make sure to finish the qualification process.

You can check the status of your qualification task via the Languages section in your profile. In case you're not qualified, you won't be able to receive projects in this language pair.

Please note: It is not always possible to provide all translators with a continuous flow of tasks in their experience fields. However, as soon as we have a new and suitable project available for you, you will be notified!

3. What’s the status of my Qualification Task?

  • You can always check the Qualification Task status on your dashboard. By hovering over the info icon, you will receive more info about that particular status.
  • Please note that for some language pairs the qualification has been (temporarily) paused because of many applications and a lack of projects for those pairs.
  • Rest assured, we'll notify you as soon as we will continue with the evaluations and/or receive new projects for them!

4. My qualification task has not been assessed within 2 weeks

  • For some language pairs the qualification has been (temporarily) paused because of many applications and a lack of projects for those pairs.
  • Rest assured, we'll notify you as soon as we will continue with the evaluations and/or receive new projects for them!
  • If you’re in doubt, you can always send us a email to support@tolq.com and we’ll look into it as soon as possible.

5. My qualification task has been assessed, but my profile hasn’t been reviewed within 2 weeks

Please check if you have entered the following details in your account:

  • Proz and/or LinkedIn Url: in order for us to be able to evaluate and verify your profile, please provide us with the links to your accounts.
  • Resume information: please provide us with your Resume details - you can copy & paste your CV in plain text so we can evaluate your profile

If your language pair is still waiting for review after two weeks, please contact us via support@tolq.com.

6. I am qualified, but why I don’t receive any projects?

We cannot always serve all our translators with translation work. You can make sure we’ll be able to match your profile with our projects by:

  • Entering all your details (Resume information, link to Proz and/or LinkedIn profile)
  • Uploading your certificates (if you have any)
  • Selecting your Experience Fields.

You can manage and adjust all this information in your profile via “Languages”.

It is not always possible to provide all translators with a continuous flow of tasks in their experience fields. However, as soon as we have a new and suitable project available for you, you will be notified!

7. Why is my working language pairs not available?

  • Unfortunately we do not have any projects running in this language pair right now, or we’ve paused the qualification process because of many applications.
  • When we receive new projects and need new translators, the Qualification Task will become available to you and you will be notified.

8. I’m qualified, what happens now?

  • As soon as you're qualified and all set, the projects can literally come to you.
  • You'll be notified when a project is available and can work within our tool which includes many features such as Glossary terminology, style instructions, autocomplete, context, client chat etc.
  • We also create invoices automatically to save you time with your administration.
  • We think you get the best idea of working on our platform if you start with a few tasks.
  • You can accept per task, so you can try it out and you can stop whenever you like, or continue working.

9. I cannot see the results of my Qualification Task

  • The results will be processed internally along with your resume details - we look at and evaluate the total picture and there's no specific verdict visible to you.
  • The judgement (qualified/unqualified) reflects the status that's shown to you in the Languages section.
  • By hovering over the info icon, you will receive more info about that particular status.
